As announced this summer, Rutherford County Schools has launched two new technology tools that will simplify how parents receive information and how they interact with their teachers and coaches to learn about their student’s academics, school announcements, and extra-curricular activities.

The first one is ParentVue by Synergy, and this will be used to see your student’s academic information, including report cards, daily grades, missing assignments, class schedules, etc. It is similar to Skyward that we used last year, but it is much more mobile and user friendly. The companion is called StudentVue and contain similar information for students. 

The second app, and perhaps the most important, is MyRCS. Search for “Rutherford County Schools” in your app store, and download it for free.

The MyRCS app will be used by parents to receive messages and interact with your school, teachers, coaches, or band directors depending on the activities students are involved in. This is the sole communication platform we are using for this type of communication this year. It replaces platforms such as ClassDojo, Remind, Band or any others as parents have asked for a one-stop source for school information. 

Once downloaded, you can select which schools your children attend to receive a live feed of news items from those schools. By adjusting your preferences, written messages families receive are translated automatically into your preferred language. You can also interact directly teachers and coaches using a featured called “Rooms,” which is a secure two-way communication tool. 

Rooms launches Monday and Parents will receive an email or text message inviting them to join their teacher’s or coach’s Room. If you don’t get the email or text, that’s ok. Beginning Monday evening you can visit the Rooms section of the app, or use the login button on your school’s website.

For your login, all you need to enter is the cell phone number you have on file with your school or your email address. You should then receive an access code, and you will be logged in.

Please help support our school's Smart Card sale! Funds earned from these sales will cover monthly behavior bashes for students. Our goal is to sell 800 cards. We have also opened up the sale on SchoolCash Online, so you may now purchase using cash, check, or card through SchoolCash Online! The sale will end on Monday, August 24th, so make sure to purchase yours before it's too late!

Don't forget to register for soccer!! We're also still in need of parent volunteers for coaches.

Registration is open for rec soccer at Stewartsboro! Students in 2nd - 5th grade may sign up to play rec soccer. Practices will be held after school, and games will be played on Saturdays. Please see the attached flyer with more information and game dates. It costs $60 to play, and parents can register their students through School Cash Online. It was great seeing all our new and returning students at registration day this morning! If your child is a car rider for after school dismissal, we will begin our typical dismissal procedures on Monday. Please see the graphic with traffic flow information and read the information below to review our dismissal procedures.

-We begin car rider dismissal at 2:25 and are usually done by 2:45.
-Please follow the designated traffic flow at all times.
-Please use the right lane if you are turning right onto Stewarts Valley Dr. Use the left and center lanes if you are turning left onto Stewarts Valley Dr.
-Obey posted signs and directions from staff members.
-Drive slowly and remain alert for students, staff and other vehicles.
-If you notice a large gap between you and the vehicle in front of you, but kids are out moving to their cars, do not move forward. Just stay where you are.
-Stay at your vehicle and wait for your child. Please do not walk up looking for your child.
-When we are checking to see if students are in their vehicles, please give us a thumbs up if you have your child, or alert us if your child has not made it to your car.
-You must have a car tag to pick up a student in the car line. If you do not have a car tag, you will need to park and go to the front office to show your ID. We are not able to check IDs in the car line.
-Expect heavier traffic during the first few weeks and allow extra travel time. Typically, our car rider dismissal line is finished by 2:45, but the first few weeks of school may take longer.
