Schools will be closed due to inclement weather tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th.

Hello parents and employees,

This is James Evans with Rutherford County Schools, and we want to inform you about the schedule for Wednesday.
The weather forecast has maintained that our county will remain under a winter weather advisory through at least noon on Wednesday. A winter weather advisory means our county could accumulate up to three inches of snow.

As such, we want to give parents as much notice as possible and let you know all Rutherford County schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025. The district’s Central Office will also be closed and 12-month school-based classified employees should not report to work.

We will make an announcement about Wednesday’s extra-curricular activities by noon. All activities for tonight must be concluded by 8 p.m.

We don’t have a decision yet concerning Thursday, but we will let parents know as soon as we have reliable information about road conditions.

We know closing schools can be an inconvenience for some parents, but we also must consider the safety of student drivers, employees and buses. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
